Dehradun. Assembly elections are to be held in Uttarakhand next year. Before this, the Election Commission has conducted a special intensive review (SIR) of voters in Uttarakhand. After SIR, there are about 71 lakh voters in the final voter list of Uttarakhand released by the Election Commission. This number is 8 lakh less than the number of voters at the beginning of SIR. At the same time, Congress claims that the Election Commission has deleted 14 lakh names. According to Congress, there were 85.19 lakh voters in Uttarakhand on January 1, 2025.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, when SIR started in June this year, there were 79.6 lakh voters in the state. After SIR, 71.33 lakh voters were left in the draft voter list released on July 14. After releasing the draft voter list, the Election Commission had fixed the deadline for making claims and objections from July 14 to August 13. Now according to the final voter list, there are 71.58 lakh voters in Uttarakhand. There are 3737701 male and 3421036 female voters in the final voter list of Uttarakhand. The number of voters aged 18 to 19 years is 72656. Whereas, there are 122892 voters above 80 years of age. Apart from these, there are also 212 third gender voters in Uttarakhand.
According to Uttarakhand State Election Commission, after filing of claims and objections, names of 129872 voters were added to the final list. At the same time, names of 104708 voters were deleted. The Commission has said that those whose names are not in the final voter list can fill Form-6. For this, online application can be made through ECINET. If people want, they can contact their BLO and fill the application form for adding name offline also. Special camps will be organized in Uttarakhand to add people's names to the voter list. Apart from this, BLOs will also go door-to-door to collect information about such voters. BLOs will identify voters from the earlier list before SIR. So that it can be known whether the name was in the earlier voter list or not.
