According to the news of the news agency, Congress in-charge of Uttarakhand and Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja has said in a letter to Harish Rawat that it has come to the notice of the party that you are undertaking a tour in the state. In the letter, Selja has written that Harish Rawat did not discuss this matter with him or the State Congress Committee President. Selja has written in the letter that Uttarakhand Assembly elections are to be held in the coming months and the party needs to work unitedly. He has told Harish Rawat that you will also understand that at this time any parallel program will not be in the interest of the party. Selja has also expressed displeasure over the controversial statements made by Harish Rawat in recent times.

Harish Rawat had announced to take out Thanksgiving and Jan Samvad Yatra. Through Facebook and social media, Harish Rawat had talked about taking out the yatra from Sunday 4th October. Harish Rawat had said that he is undertaking the yatra to understand the problems of the people, farmers and businessmen of Uttarakhand and to talk to them directly. When the Congress high command summoned Harish Rawat to Delhi, the former CM gave a controversial statement that the heavenly power should guide him. At the same time, in September, a post was made from Harish Rawat's social media account about political changes in Uttarakhand. To which Mangalore MLA Nizamuddin raised objection. Rawat later removed the post and said that his social media handler made a mistake.
