By-Elections Results Held In 4 States: BJP's bumper victory in Nandigram and Rejinagar, know what was the result of by-elections held in other 3 states?


New Delhi. The results of Nandigram and Rejinagar assembly by-elections of West Bengal have come. BJP has won on both the seats. In Nandigram, Hasirani Rath, mother of late Chandranath Rath, PA of CM Shubhendu Adhikari, had contested the elections on BJP ticket. He won the election by more than 1 lakh 22 thousand votes, breaking the victory record of Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari. His rival Congress candidate Milan Pradhan got only 41,674 votes. Earlier in Nandigram, Subhendu Adhikari had defeated CPI's Abdul Kabir Shaikh by 81,230 votes.

Whereas, in Rejinagar, BJP candidate Shakharav Sarkar defeated Humayun Kabir's Aam Janata Unnayan Party candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad (Robin) by a huge margin of 75,816 votes. Whereas in the by-election held on Naugaon Lok Sabha seat of Assam, BJP's Devashish Sharma is maintaining a decisive lead by 141916 votes (till the time of writing the news).

TVK captures both seats in Tamil Nadu

On the other hand, both Dharapuram and Madurantakam assembly seats of Tamil Nadu went to TVK. In the Dharapuram Assembly by-election, TVK candidate Satyabhama P. defeated his nearest rival DMK candidate Suganya S. Defeated by 9,471 votes. AIADMK candidate Bhanumathi stood at third place. 45280 votes were cast in his favor. In Madurantakam, TVK candidate Marugadam Kumaravel won by more than 20 thousand votes.

Ashok Anand, candidate of NDA's ally AINRC party, won in Puducherry.

NDA's ruling ally All India N. R Congress (AINRC) party candidate Ashok Anand won. Ashok Anand defeated his nearest Congress rival E. Vinayagam by over 8,000 votes. Ashok Anand got a total of 13,358 votes, while Congress candidate E. Vinayagam got 4,876 votes. While DMK candidate K. Sethu Selvam stood third with 2,664 votes. Voting was held on October 6, 2026 for the by-elections for 5 assembly and 1 Lok Sabha seats in 4 states.
