New Delhi. There was an attempt to protest in the capital on 10 October. Due to strict police arrangements, the protest could not take a major form, but at many places the police was pelted with stones and law and order was challenged. Taking strict action against such cases, Delhi Police has registered more than 20 FIRs. In the FIR, sections related to obstruction in government work, violation of law and order and attacks on police have been imposed.

More than 30,000 soldiers have been deployed to prevent any kind of violence during protests in Delhi. Only 120 companies of paramilitary forces are deployed. Delhi Police has imposed section 163 of BNS. To prevent the protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar, Delhi Police had barricaded many nearby roads. However, now the Supreme Court has asked Delhi Police to remove all the barricades installed in the capital. On October 10, on the request of Delhi Police, Delhi Metro had closed the gates of 57 metro stations, but they were reopened in the evening.

Delhi Police has divided New Delhi district into 20 zones to prevent incidents of violence during protests. Where senior officers including Joint Commissioner, DCP and ACP of Delhi Police are continuously keeping an eye. Security has also been increased on the borders of Delhi. At the same time, people staying in all the hotels, guest houses, lodges and dharamshalas in the capital are being verified. Police have also kept an eye on social media. So that those spreading fake news can be identified and strict action can be taken. Delhi Police has appealed for peace and cooperation from the people living in the capital. Delhi Police has requested people not to be a part of the protest. Delhi Police has refused to allow any protest at Jantar Mantar due to not seeking permission in time. At the same time, protesters from many organizations including Congress and opposition parties are saying that their protests are not going to stop till the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
