Greater Noida. Punjab National Bank (PNB) is once again in the news. Recently, fake currency worth crores was revealed in the chest of PNB located in Sophia Market, Saharanpur. This time, there has been an allegation of alleged withdrawal of money from FD in the PNB branch in Beta-2 Kotwali area of Greater Noida. This branch of PNB is in Aichhar village of Sector Pi-1. 30 account holders of PNB's Aichhar village branch in Greater Noida have complained about misappropriation of money from their FD and savings bank accounts.
It is alleged that Rs 35 crore was withdrawn from the account holders of PNB branch. There is an allegation of crossing Rs 39 lakh from one account holder's account and Rs 87 lakh from another's account. The account holders allege that their FD was closed prematurely and the amount was transferred to other accounts without taking their approval. After the news spread about this, more account holders are reaching this branch of the bank and collecting information about their account balance. After the complaint of exceeding the amount from FD and savings account in this branch of Greater Noida, the branch manager and four employees have been suspended in the regional office of PNB and new staff have been deployed.
PNB's anti-corruption team is investigating allegations of embezzlement of money from accounts and FDs. At the same time, after receiving the complaint, the police is also investigating the theft of funds of 18 account holders by breaking their FD. Earlier recently, it was revealed that fake currency worth more than Rs 17 crore was found in the currency chest of PNB branch located in Sophia Market, Saharanpur. In which many employees of that branch of PNB were suspended. The investigation into finding of fake notes in the currency chest of PNB has been handed over to NIA. NIA has arrested Aadesh Choudhary, Mukesh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Neetu, Rajendra along with Ajay Kumar from Ambala and Harish Raunta from Manali in the case of fake notes in the chest of PNB. The special thing is that fake notes were also found in the PNB branch located in Saharanpur in Western UP and now in the PNB branch in Aichhar village of Greater Noida located in Western UP, complaints of people withdrawing money from their FD and accounts are coming to the fore.
