New Delhi. If you want to get a good corpus on retirement by investing in the National Pension System i.e. NPS, then read this news carefully. Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has asked for changes in the names of NPS schemes and the way they are displayed online from December 1, 2026. With this, investors in NPS will be able to see more options at one place. So that they will be able to choose the right scheme for themselves.

PFRDA has issued a circular on November 2 saying that all the schemes in NPS will have to be shown in the selected categories. Till now, people could see only limited pension fund schemes on many online platforms. Because of which they were not able to compare NPS with other schemes. PFRDA has also decided the method of naming the schemes falling under the multiple scheme framework. Now in every scheme, it has been made necessary to show first the short form of the name of the pension fund, then NPS and then the separate name of that scheme. With this, those depositing money in NPS will know which pension fund the scheme belongs to and what is its name.

According to PFRDA, Tier-1 will be kept as default. At the same time, it will be necessary to write Tier-2 at the end of the name of Tier-2 schemes. There will no longer be category codes from A to E in the names of NPS schemes. If a pension fund runs several schemes in one category, then it has been made necessary to show the names of all schemes separately. PFRDA has not completely stopped online platforms from showing the options of their choice. He can also keep a particular pension fund scheme at the top. Still, he will have to show the schemes of other pension funds along with it. The new rule also states that if an investor voluntarily visits a pension fund's website or app and completes the account opening process from there, then only the schemes of that pension fund will be shown on that platform. If you want to deposit money in NPS, now you will be able to decide after seeing all the schemes.
