11-Year-Old Drives MG Cyberster Electric Sportscar: Father Arrested, Car Seized [Video]
Underage driving is a very common problem in India, and each and every day we see very young kids driving scooters, bikes, and sometimes cars as well. Now, recently a video has gone viral online in which an 11-year-old kid was seen driving a Rs 85 lakh MG Cyberster convertible electric sports car. It has also been reported that the owner of this particular Cyberster convertible, who also happens to be the father of this 11-year-old kid, has also been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized by the authorities.
The video showing this young boy driving the MG Cyberster on public roads has been shared on X by AVM on their page. In this short clip, we can note that the Andes Grey-colored MG Cyberster was driving on the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad, Telangana. It can be seen that the roof of this supercar was down, and the man sitting in the passenger seat had his hand in the air.
Soon after this, the video then shows the vehicle from which this video was recorded coming next to the Cyberster. During this passage, it was noted that the vehicle was actually being driven by a very young kid whose seat was very close to the steering wheel. Meanwhile, the adult who was supposed to be driving the vehicle was sitting in the passenger seat.
It has been reported that this particular video was shared online on June 11, after which a number of netizens tagged Hyderabad Traffic Police and demanded strict action against the owner of the vehicle. As a result of this, Rajendranagar Traffic Police initiated an investigation, and it was found that this video was actually shot on March 8 and was uploaded recently on social media.
During the investigation, the authorities then managed to identify the owner of the MG Cyberster seen in the video. It belonged to a construction business owner from Tolichowki, Hyderabad, and he is also the father of the child who was driving the car. The police authorities then detained both the father and the minor.
It has been reported that the MG Cyberster seen in the video has also been seized by the authorities. Cases have been registered against the father for allowing a minor to drive. Additionally, cases have been registered against the minor driver as well. As per the reports, charges have been filed under Section 181 (Driving without a valid license) and Section 177 (General violations under the Motor Vehicles Act).
Apart from these, police authorities also invoked Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This section deals with rash and dangerous driving which endangers human life. Rajendranagar Traffic Police Inspector Challa Raju stated that they traced the vehicle through the viral video. He added that strict action will continue against parents who allow minors to drive.
For those who may not be aware, the MG Cyberster convertible electric sports car, which costs Rs 85 lakh, is a very powerful car. It comes powered by a dual-motor setup which is capable of producing 510 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. This vehicle can perform a sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. Now, allowing an 11-year-old to handle all this power on a public road is dangerous beyond any limit.

Thankfully, nothing happened in this particular instance. However, if anything were to happen and the kid had started speeding and then lost control, a 510 bhp vehicle would become equivalent to a rocket on the road, which could destroy anything that came in its way. As a result of this danger, strict action has been taken against this parent and his minor son.
