The monsoon session of Parliament has been adjourned sine die on Thursday. The government is not satisfied with the quality of discussions during the session. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said in the press conference that the opposition did not allow proper debate. He informed that 12 bills have been passed during the monsoon session. Let us tell you that the work productivity of the Lok Sabha in the session was 19 percent. This time Question Hour and Zero Hour could not run even for a single day.
Rijiju said, 'A total of 12 bills were passed, but we are not satisfied with the quality of the discussion because the opposition did not allow proper debate, especially in the Lok Sabha. This is the first time I have seen the opposition shying away from discussion. The opposition wants answers from the government and the government is obliged to give them. Yet inside Parliament we saw a scenario where the government itself was calling for discussion, while the opposition was looking for excuses to avoid it. This is not good for parliamentary democracy.

11 bills passed without discussion
Rijiju further said, '11 bills were passed in the Lok Sabha without discussion, while one bill was discussed. There was a complete discussion on the bill in the Rajya Sabha. Only the main opposition Congress party and a few other members walked out of the House, while other opposition parties participated.
Rijiju alleged that Congress MPs only indulge in abusing and creating ruckus. Sorry for the new MPs as they did not get the opportunity for meaningful debate and discussion. Rijiju said, 'One more thing I have noticed is that Congress MPs feel that their main role is only to raise slogans and create ruckus with placards and banners. This has become their mentality. They wake up early in the morning, take pillows to the Parliament complex and start raising slogans and abusing. All his work remains just this. He himself has created this situation. Further said that as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, I am really sorry for the Congress MPs, especially the new MPs. They did not get a chance for meaningful debate and discussion.
