12 people arrested for attack on ED officials after raid at Vijayan’s residence

Thiruvananthapuram, (Language) Till now in connection with the violent attack on the vehicles of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who had come to raid the residence of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. 12 People have been arrested. Police gave this information on Thursday.
Police said more arrests may be made, Because local CPI(M) leader I.P. Binu and some other people have been detained. Earlier in the day, state police chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar met Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala at his residence and pledged action against those involved in the violence.
The police chief said he had discussed the matter with the Home Minister, Who directed to take strict action against the culprits. he told, “8 accused have been arrested and we have identified some more people.” By the evening, 4 more people were arrested in connection with the incident.
The state police chief said adequate police force was deployed at various places around Vijayan’s residence after receiving information about the Enforcement Directorate raid on Wednesday.
Chandrashekhar said that the police were not given prior information about the raid. he said”ED did not inform us, But as soon as the action started, We took steps and deployed security personnel.” After the alleged attack on ED officials and security personnel, Kerala Police arrested almost 300 A case has been registered against the people.
Said in the FIR that stones and bricks were thrown at the vehicles, Due to which the driver of a car suffered serious injuries. Police said the attackers also damaged government vehicles., Due to which there was a loss of approximately Rs 3 lakh.
Officials said the accused have been identified, However, not all arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing. The ED raid was related to financial transactions between Vijayan’s daughter’s company and a sand mining company.
