Shocking revelations behind violence in labor protests: Revelations of fake WhatsApp groups and inflammatory messages

The ongoing demonstrations in the industrial areas of Noida regarding the demands of workers took a violent turn on the fourth day, due to which many shocking facts have come to light in the police investigation. According to the police, this protest was not limited to labor issues only, but was instigated in a planned manner through digital mediums. So far seven FIRs have been registered in this regard and action has been initiated against many people on charges of spreading rumors and inciting violence.

Investigative agencies say that this movement, which started with the demands of the workers, quickly turned into organized violence. Simultaneous protests took place at more than 80 places in the district, with incidents of vandalism and arson reported at many places. The arson caused huge damage to industrial and private properties at at least four to five places.

Allegation of mobilization through WhatsApp groups

Police investigation has revealed that a large number of people were added to different WhatsApp groups overnight. These groups were allegedly created and circulated through QR codes. The names of many groups were associated with labor organizations or labor movements, which made it easier for people to connect.

Inflammatory and provocative messages were allegedly shared within these groups, inciting to intensify demonstrations and create confrontational situations. Police believe that through these digital platforms, a large crowd was organized in a short time and tension was increased at the ground level.

Forensic investigation of the mobile phones of the arrested accused has also revealed evidence of such messages and activities, which indicate a coordinated strategy behind this entire incident.

Violence captured in CCTV footage

In the CCTV footage that surfaced on the day of the violence, some people are seen forcibly breaking the factory gate and entering inside. In the footage, sticks and iron rods were seen in the hands of the attackers. After getting inside, they also targeted surveillance cameras and broke them, so that their identities could be hidden.

In another incident, news of stone pelting by a mob outside Sector-63 police station came to light. The situation worsened when a large number of people gathered and started attacking the police. After this, additional police force was called to the spot, which dispersed the crowd through tear gas and lathi charge.

Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel were also deployed to restore law and order in sensitive areas. Officials say that the situation is now under control, but considering the seriousness of the matter, investigation is going on. Police have appealed to the people not to pay attention to any rumors and maintain peace. It has also been made clear that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in or promoting violence.
