Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is not just a person, but a resolution!
On the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respectful homage to him on Tuesday (April 14). Remembering the contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Prime Minister paid humble tribute to him by posting on the social media platform ‘X’.
In a video shared in this post, Prime Minister Modi said that today is a very important day in the history of the country. He said that Ambedkar was not just a person, but a resolution. Babasaheb dedicated his life to the struggle and fought against the evils of the society. The Prime Minister further said that Baba Saheb, regardless of his honor or reputation, continuously struggled to provide equality and dignity to the Dalits, backward, exploited and deprived sections of the society. Despite suffering insults, he never deviated from his path.
After 2014, his government has taken many important steps to convey Babasaheb’s ideas to the coming generations. The birthplace in Mhow, the place of education in London, the place of Mahaparinirvana in Delhi and the Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur have been developed as ‘Panchtirtha’. He said that following the path shown by Babasaheb, the country is rapidly bringing changes in the lives of the poor, Dalits and deprived sections.
On Tuesday, on the birth anniversary of Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and several other leaders paid floral tributes to him in the Parliament complex. Several dignitaries including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha member Ramdas Athawale and Congress leader Udit Raj were present to pay tribute to the ‘architect of the Indian Constitution’.
President Draupadi Murmu also paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Presently he is on Gujarat tour and he paid floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar at Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Babasaheb and said that he laid the strong foundation of Indian democracy by giving a constitution that gives equal rights and opportunities to every class. He also mentioned that Ambedkar had strongly opposed Article 370 for the integrity of the country. His life teaches us that if there is a determination to serve the country and public welfare, then no obstacle is too big.
