Tamil Nadu: PM Modi’s mega road show in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, huge crowd gathered
Prime Minister Modi had reached here as part of the intensified election campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). During this time Edappadi K. was with him. Palaniswami, Nainar Nagenthran and former Tamil Nadu BJP state president K Annamalai were also present. Apart from this, senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan also participated in the program.
Prime Minister Modi reached Thiruvananthapuram from New Delhi during the day and from there left for Nagercoil by helicopter. As soon as he reached Nagercoil, he started the road show in an open vehicle. The road show was about 1.5 kilometers long, running from Veppamoodu Junction to Vadassery.
Standing atop a specially decorated vehicle, the Prime Minister greeted supporters standing on both sides of the road. People gathered in large numbers raised slogans, cheered and welcomed him by showering flowers. During this period, there was huge participation from party workers as well as the general public, which shows the intensity of the election atmosphere in the area.
This road show is an important part of the aggressive election strategy of the BJP-led NDA. As the voting date approaches in Tamil Nadu, political activities have intensified. Leaders of various political parties are busy visiting different parts of the state to woo voters in their favor and strengthen their support base.
The presence of key leaders of the alliance with the Prime Minister underlines how serious the NDA is about South Tamil Nadu, especially Kanyakumari district. This area has also been politically important in the last elections and the results here have been influencing the politics of the state.
Now only a few days are left for the election campaign to end. In such a situation, this visit of the Prime Minister is being considered important from the point of view of infusing new energy among the party workers and strengthening the electoral prospects of NDA.
Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be held on April 23, while counting of votes will take place on May 4. The road show, which took place amid tight security arrangements, has become one of the major events of the election campaign in the southern district.
