Taking major action against corruption in Rajasthan, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Sub Divisional Officer (SDM) Kajal Meena posted in Karauli district while taking bribe. Two other employees have also been detained along with him. According to ACB officials, the action was taken on Thursday (April 16) when Meena was caught accepting a bribe of ₹60,000. This amount was being taken through his senior assistant Praveen Dhakad and reader Dinesh Kumar Saini.
Bribe was demanded in a land related matter
According to the investigation, this bribe was demanded from a complainant in exchange for issuing the final decree for his land. ACB Director General Govind Gupta said that the Sawai Madhopur unit had received a complaint that the complainant was being harassed by the SDM office by continuously demanding bribe.
According to the complainant, initially a demand of ₹1 lakh was made, which was later settled at ₹50,000. During verification it also came to light that the reader had asked for ₹10,000 for himself and ₹50,000 for the SDM.

₹4 lakh cash also recovered, investigation ongoing
Apart from the bribe amount of ₹60,000, the ACB has also recovered around ₹4 lakh in cash, which is described as “suspicious amount”, from the spot. According to officials, the amount may be linked to other possible bribes and investigation is ongoing. Kajal Meena is a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer of 2024 batch and was a topper from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. Earlier, he had done B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Mandi.
An old statement of his is also in discussion, in which he had said that the purpose of joining administrative service was “to bring positive changes in the lives of common people”.
ACB has registered a case under the Anti-Corruption Act and started further investigation. Officials say that on the basis of the recovered cash and other documents, the entire case is being investigated in depth, so that it can be found out who else may be involved in it.
