North Zone Agriculture Conference in Lucknow on 24 April, Minister Scientists will attend!

Regional Agriculture Conference (North Zone) will be held at Central Hotel on 24th April (Friday) under the auspices of the Union Farmers Welfare Ministry. In this, Agriculture Minister, Horticulture Minister, Principal Secretary, Director, FPO, progressive farmers, scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, officials of Government of India etc. of 9 states (Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab and Delhi) will be present.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Ministers of State Bhagirath Chaudhary and Ramnath Thakur will also participate in the inaugural session. This information was given by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi. Shri Shahi gave detailed information regarding the event while talking to journalists at Lok Bhavan on Thursday.

He said that there will also be discussion and review on agricultural credit, Kisan Credit Card, progress of Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, farmers of states, startups of the Centre, FPOs, NABARD, banks, mill owners, processing units, possibilities of horticulture, progress of pulses self-reliance mission, seed agencies, procurement agencies, irrigation companies, National Edible Oil Mission etc.

The Agriculture Minister said that various states have done better work regarding the welfare and income of farmers. They will also make other states aware by giving a presentation of their work. Intercropping with sugarcane has been started in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there will also be a presentation on the Direct Sowing (DSR) method of paddy. The Government of India has considered it to be the best practice and has also declared it to be in the interest of farmers.

Whereas the Punjab government has adopted the method of crop diversification of paddy, Himachal and Uttarakhand have adopted a special method in the field of horticulture. Along with this, information about various positive works of other states in the field of agriculture will also be exchanged.

In the conference, there will also be a detailed discussion and review on control of fake pesticides, black marketing of fertilizers, effective distribution, promotion of its alternatives, balanced use, use of alternative fertilizers in place of chemical fertilizers.

What policy should be made further for the North Zone and how farmers can be made empowered and economically capable through this will also be discussed in the conference. In response to a question, the Agriculture Minister said that there is no problem of fertilizer in Uttar Pradesh.

There are more than 20 lakh metric tons of fertilizer in Uttar Pradesh. It contains 11.5 lakh MT urea. He said that the government has decided to provide about 40 thousand quintals of Dhencha seeds to the farmers, which will reduce the consumption of urea by 20 percent.
