Hansika Motwani practiced for hours to learn Hyderabadi accent, mistakes are not acceptable!

Playing a character in films is not just about acting in front of the camera, but also completely adopting the way of thinking, living and speaking of that character. Many actors prepare for months to make their character look real. Actress Hansika Motwani is also seen working hard these days.

She is working on learning the special dialect and accent of Hyderabad for her character in the new web series ‘Gully’. Regarding preparation for her character, Hansika Motwani said, “I had to work the most on the way to speak dialogues for this character.

The story of the series depicts the world around the old city of Hyderabad and the Charminar area, so it was very important for me to get the dialect of that place right. I want my dialogues to sound absolutely real and the audience to feel as if my character is a part of that environment.”

Hansika Motwani said, “I did not take the help of any dialogue trainer. I worked hard and prepared myself. However, the entire team used to sit together and do workshops several times, so that every dialogue and every word could be spoken correctly. Sitting with the team and repeatedly reading and speaking the dialogues helped me a lot. It gave me an opportunity to understand the nuances of the language.”

Hansika further said, “This experience was completely new for me. I had never worked in this kind of dialect or accent before. That’s why I had to practice a lot in the beginning.

It is not easy to act in a particular dialect, because if even a small word is spoken wrong then people immediately feel it. Even the smallest mistake is immediately noticed by the audience, so I was very careful about the pronunciation of every word and the style of speaking.”

She said, “While playing this character, I was also trying to understand how the people of that area talk, how they express their emotions and what kind of accent they use. Unless the actor understands the language of the character properly, he cannot do complete justice to that character.”
