Shivraj PM Gram Sadak Yojana-4 in Srinagar, extension of 1600 km!
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Chaudhary and other senior leaders will also be present in this program. This program is not just a government event, but is being considered a symbol of collective commitment for development.
Since 2000, 3,328 roads have been constructed in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, making a total road network of 19,851 kilometers, and 257 bridges have also been constructed. Now, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-4, Batch-2, 330 new roads will be constructed, which will be approximately 1,600 kilometers long. The cost of this project is Rs 3,550 crore and it will benefit 363 villages.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is emphasizing on working on the ground and not just making announcements. Efforts are being made to provide roads and facilities to the most remote villages.
This program will start on April 28 at 11 am. During this, the Union Minister will also hand over the letter of approval of Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana-4, Batch-2 to the Chief Minister. Apart from this, approvals will also be issued under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission, which will work towards making women economically stronger.
At present, about 96,000 self-help groups, 7,500 village organizations and 650 cluster level associations are active in Jammu and Kashmir, which are strengthening the rural economy. An environment of increasing self-confidence and income is being created in the villages through skill development, employment and women leadership.
Even in the agriculture sector, farmers are getting the benefits of many schemes like PM-Kisan, Crop Insurance Scheme, Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, Horticulture Mission, Farmer Producer Organization, e-NAM and micro irrigation schemes.
Overall, this visit of Shivraj Singh Chauhan has brought a message of trust, participation and development for farmers, rural families and women.
