Amit Shah praised NCB on Salim Dola extradition, said- drug mafia can no longer hide

Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday praised the action taken by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to bring back drug smuggler Mohammad Salim Dola from Türkiye. He said that the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drug mafia and narco syndicate is continuing in the country and agencies are working strongly in this direction.

Amit Shah posted on social media account

As part of the Modi government’s mission to completely dismantle drug cartels, our anti-narco agencies have spread across the borders through a strong network of global agencies. Now no matter where they hide, no place is safe for drug lords.”

Salim Dola, one of the big names associated with the international drug network, was finally brought to India on Tuesday. He is believed to be close to Dawood Ibrahim and was active in the drug smuggling business for a long time. Salim was deported to Delhi’s Technical Airport, from where intelligence agencies took him into custody.

According to sources, this action was part of a larger operation conducted in collaboration with Indian agencies and international partners. Salim Dola was arrested by local police and intelligence units in Istanbul, Turkey. His arrest came on the basis of an Interpol Red Corner Notice, which was issued on the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

It is being told that Salim Dola was brought to Delhi by a special plane and currently he is being interrogated here. Investigative agencies are busy gathering information from him about international drug smuggling and its related networks.

As part of further process, he can be handed over to Mumbai-based NCB, where in-depth investigation will be done in many cases related to him. It is believed that his arrest may expose a large network of drug smuggling.
