14 killed in fire at Learning Space Library in Aliganj, Lucknow, CM Yogi cancels Aligarh tour, death toll may increase
Lucknow. A sudden fire broke out in the Learning Space Library located in Sector-D, Aliganj, Lucknow, the capital of UP, on Monday afternoon. 14 lost their lives in this accident. To save their lives, students sitting in the class started jumping down from the roofs and windows, due to which many students were injured. It is being told that there was a fire in a shop located below the coaching centre, after which many students present above got trapped inside. At present the rescue operation is going on at the spot. The death toll may increase further. behind the building of The dead bodies are being taken out by breaking the wall.

According to the latest updates, the fire broke out due to a short circuit on the second floor. Many children saved their lives by jumping from the balcony because the roof gate was locked. In a video that surfaced on social media, a student is seen climbing out of the broken window of the building. He tries to grab hold of a balcony to escape, but loses his grip and falls onto an iron grill below before falling to the ground. After this, some people present there are seen picking him up and taking him to a safe place. The student has suffered serious injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

As soon as information about the incident was received, police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and after much effort the fire was controlled. State Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also immediately visited the spot to take stock of the relief and rescue operations. DGP Rajiv Krishna and Principal Secretary Sanjay Prasad have also reached the spot. Police force is present along with Lucknow District Magistrate and administrative team. Relief and rescue operations are continuing. On the spot, 14 fire brigade vehicles were busy extinguishing the fire, while the NDRF team was breaking the back wall of the library and taking out the dead bodies. A large number of libraries are running in Lucknow without fire NOC or any other standard and in the surrounding districts.
CM expressed grief over the loss of life
The Chief Minister also expressed grief over the incident by posting on ‘X’. The Chief Minister wrote that the loss of lives in the fire accident in Lucknow is extremely sad and heartbreaking. My condolences are with the bereaved family. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured.

Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the officials for relief work and proper treatment of the injured. CM Yogi is canceling his visit to Aligarh and returning.
