Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) on 9 May 2015.
The objective of these schemes was to provide affordable social security and economic protection especially to the poor, deprived and vulnerable sections.

While sharing a post of MyGov India, he said that Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana have brought positive changes in the lives of people at the grassroots level.
PM Modi further said that Atal Pension Scheme has proved to be extremely beneficial for many people and is helping the elderly to live a secure life.
The Prime Minister said that this scheme reflects the government’s vision to make social security easy and inclusive for all. The Prime Minister especially said that women have got huge benefits from this scheme.
A total of more than 94.5 crore enrollments have been done so far in all three public safety schemes.
As of April 30, more than 27.43 crore people have enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, while more than 58.09 crore people have enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. At the same time, more than 9.04 crore people have joined the Atal Pension Yojana.
Under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, claims worth more than Rs 21,500 crore have been paid to more than 10.7 lakh families.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, assistance worth Rs 3,660 crore has been given to more than 1.84 lakh families.
According to the government, the objective of these schemes is to protect people from the uncertainties of life and provide long-term economic strength.
