Delhi: CM Rekha Gupta started ‘Metro Monday’, reached office by metro!
This initiative taken by the Chief Minister under ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Contribution’ is being considered important from the point of view of public transport, fuel conservation and citizen participation. Following this call of the Chief Minister, many ministers and officials of the Delhi government reached their offices by metro instead of private vehicles. This will reduce their dependence on private vehicles, while the load of passengers on the metro will increase. However, the Metro has geared up to deal with this situation.
While talking to journalists, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta appealed to the common people to increase their dependence on public vehicles. He said that if you increase your dependence on public vehicles, then the people of Delhi will get many benefits.
He further said that our government is trying its best to ensure that the people of Delhi do not face any kind of problem while using public vehicles. In this direction, we have determined the complete outline and at present we are working accordingly.
Emphasizing this, the Chief Minister said that if every person of Delhi accepts our call seriously, then many of our problems will automatically be solved. Keeping all these situations in mind, today we had called for ‘Metro Monday’ for the people of Delhi. Keeping this in view, all our officers decided to travel by metro.
He said that I am able to see that after our call, many people reached the office by metro. I am happy to see this. This is being seen as an auspicious sign.
Earlier on May 17, Delhi Metro had decided to start extra train trips. Under this, earlier only six extra trips were running, but now it has been increased to 24. Its main objective is to reduce people’s dependence on personal vehicles.
DMRC had said in its statement that after starting extra train trips, it is natural to see an increase in the number of passengers. Therefore, to face this situation, a complete outline has been set by Delhi Metro, efforts to implement it have also started.
To deal with this situation, DMRC decided to deploy a large number of security forces on the metro station premises, so that every kind of challenging situation can be faced in a coordinated manner.
