Children are at risk of heat stroke in extreme heat, it is very important to be careful!

The scorching heat continues across the country. The temperature has gone up to 45 degrees Celsius in many states. Not only this, Nautapa will also start from May 25 to June 2, which means the earth will heat even more. Meanwhile, the Government of India is continuously issuing advisories and advising people to remain alert and not be careless. Meanwhile, experts said that children are most at risk of heat stroke in extreme heat.

The National Health Mission (NHM) issued a warning saying that newborns and small children are most sensitive to heat stroke. Negligence regarding them in extreme heat can prove costly. During the summer season, the body of small children gets overheated quickly and they are able to sweat less, due to which their body temperature can increase rapidly.

Health experts say that with proper care and caution, children can be kept safe even in this summer season. Carelessness can put the child’s health at risk. In such a situation, seek medical help immediately in case of any heat related problem.

NHM also suggests measures to protect children from heat stroke. In such a situation, keep children in a cool and ventilated place. Do not leave them in direct sunlight or in a closed hot room. Keep checking their body temperature regularly and give them adequate amount of water and other fluids. Also, keep giving mother’s milk from time to time.

Dress children in light, loose and cotton clothes. Don’t wear too many clothes. Bathe the child with cold water or wipe the body with a wet cloth. If the child cries, is irritable, sleeps too much, vomits, has high fever or has trouble breathing, contact the doctor immediately.

According to experts, it is difficult to identify the symptoms of heat stroke in infants early, so parents should be especially cautious. Avoid taking children out in summer between 12 noon and 4 pm.
