Why does love fade after marriage? Know the 5 big mistakes that increase distance in relationships

The most common complaint of many couples after marriage is that the earlier enthusiasm, romance and love gradually starts decreasing. The spark that made the heart beat faster in the initial days begins to fade with time. Conversations reduce, fights over small matters increase and it seems that the relationship is no longer as fun as before. Actually, this change does not come in a day. This is the result of small habits of our everyday life. Before marriage, we give utmost importance to our partner, but after marriage, responsibilities, routines and other tasks increase so much that the relationship starts getting left behind. The good thing is that if we understand these reasons in time and make some small changes, then the old shine and warmth can be brought back in the relationship.

1. Increase in burden of responsibilities

Before marriage, life is quite easy and carefree. You can roam around as per your wish, spend time with friends and think only about yourself. But everything changes after marriage. Household responsibilities, work pressure, child care, family needs all increase simultaneously. The mind and time of both partners gets divided between these responsibilities. Even after coming home tired from office, worries about tomorrow’s work keep running in the mind. The result is that both patience and time for talking with the partner reduces. It becomes common to get irritated and angry over small things. The solution is that responsibilities have to be fulfilled, but give equal importance to the relationship. Set aside at least one or two hours a week that are just for the two of you.

2. Not being able to give enough time to partner

The biggest need of a relationship is time. After marriage, the day becomes so busy that it becomes difficult for the partner to find time for leaving early in the morning, sleeping tired at night, handling household chores even during weekends. Gradually things start decreasing. ‘How was your day?’ Even small inquiries like this stop. When we do not talk to each other, emotional attachment automatically starts decreasing. The distance keeps increasing. The simple solution is to keep at least 20-30 minutes of ‘uninterrupted time’ every day. Keep the phone away, turn off the TV and just talk to each other. Going for a walk, drinking tea together or chatting while lying in bed at night, these small habits keep the relationship strong.

3. Lack of personal space

Every person needs some time for himself. Some people like to read alone, some listen to music, some just sit quietly. This personal space disappears in many couples after marriage. Both get so entangled in their constant responsibilities and being with each other that they forget themselves. outcome? Fatigue, irritability and sometimes getting bored of each other. When you are unable to keep yourself fresh, it will become difficult to keep your partner happy. Wisdom: Give some personal space to your partner and take it yourself too. If your wife likes to shop alone, then let her go. If your husband likes to watch cricket with friends, then give him time. This space gives freshness to the relationship.

4. Too much interference from family

Living in a positive family gives many benefits like support, experience and safety. But sometimes interference of family members in every small and big decision can harm the relationship. When husband and wife start feeling less freedom to take their own decisions about their lives, restlessness and resentment increases. The right way is to respect the family, but maintain a balanced life in your married life. Some things should remain only between husband and wife. Make it a habit for both of you to take decisions together.

5. Expecting everything from your partner

The relationship is one of equality. If all the expectations from one side, all the burden and all the responsibility are put on the other, then the relationship becomes a burden. Some people want their partner to understand their every mood, solve every problem and always act according to them. This is impossible. It is important that both should listen, understand and respect each other’s feelings. Sometimes admitting mistakes, apologizing and praising also strengthens the relationship.
