Opposition parties are doing politics of deceit, people are looking towards BSP: Mayawati!

Describing the current political, social and economic situation of the country as “sad and bitter”, Bahujan Samaj Party National President Mayawati on Sunday said that inflation, unemployment, law and order and pro-capitalist policies are increasing the uneasiness among the general public. He alleged that the opposition parties are practicing narrow and deceitful politics, while the self-respect and secure life of the people is continuously coming under threat.

In the big meeting of the party held at the BSP Uttar Pradesh State Unit office in Lucknow, Mayawati reviewed the preparations for the assembly elections, strengthening the organization till the booth level and the strategy to increase the support base in the entire society.

He said that in view of the changing electoral environment and new challenges, there is a need to make the party organization more “agile and ready” so that the goal of forming the BSP government for the fifth time in Uttar Pradesh can be achieved.

The BSP chief said that due to the kind of political and economic situation prevailing in the country, it is natural for insecurity and dissatisfaction to increase among the common people. He said that every section of the society is suffering losses due to big capitalists and money power based politics. While fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities, governments should focus on core issues like public welfare, employment, peace and harmony and law and order.

He said that the people of Uttar Pradesh are now looking forward to the “tried and tested” BSP government and its leadership. Mayawati instructed the workers not to be careless in election preparations and said that every political move and conspiracy of the opponents will have to be countered strongly.

Mayawati said that special care is being taken in the selection of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections and in public interest, strong and publicly acceptable candidates are being given priority. He said that the party’s aim is not just to gain power but to re-establish the policy of “Sarvajan Hitaya and Sarvajan Sukhaay”.

Referring to the recent assembly elections in five states, the BSP supremo said that there is a need to take serious cognizance of the electoral developments and circumstances. He called upon the workers to go among the public with the mission to “press the button on the elephant, come back to power” and consider the security of vote as important as the security of honour, life, property and rights.
