Bengal government handed over 600 hectares of land to BSF in seven days!
Addressing a public meeting during the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of development projects worth Rs 340 crore at Sonipur village in Gandhinagar district, Home Minister Amit Shah said the BJP has fulfilled its election promise of expediting border fencing work in the state.
Amit Shah said, “We had promised during the election campaign that if you hand over power to us, we will start the work of fencing the Bangladesh border within a few days.”
Congratulating West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, he said, “I would like to congratulate West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for handing over 600 hectares of land to the BSF within just seven days. 121 hectares of land in the Chicken Neck area has also been handed over to the Central Government.”
Amit Shah linked the move to the BJP’s broader national security agenda and claimed that infiltration along the Bangladesh border has already reduced after the change of government in Bengal.
He said, “Earlier during Mamata’s rule, there used to be infiltration every day, but now the infiltrators themselves have started returning.” The Union Home Minister made these comments highlighting the growing political influence of the BJP across the country.
Referring to the recently held West Bengal Assembly elections, he said that the BJP had decisively defeated the Trinamool Congress-led government.
He said, “Today BJP is ruling 80 percent of the geographical area of the country. Recently elections were held in Bengal, where Didi’s government was completely wiped out.” Home Minister Amit Shah also said that the BJP’s ‘saffron flag’ is now flying across the entire Ganga region, ‘from Uttarakhand to Gangasagar.
The speech was delivered during Amit Shah’s visit to Gandhinagar, where he had come to participate in several development programmes, including the inauguration of drinking water facilities, Soundaryakriti Anganwadi centers and village development projects in Kalol and Gandhinagar North assembly constituencies.
He said that within the last 10 days, development works worth Rs 1,200 crore have been inaugurated or launched in both the constituencies. He attributed these projects to corporate social responsibility funds received from the state government, central government and private industrial groups.
