Shiv Sena’s sharp attack on Congress on Vande Mataram controversy!
Shiv Sena also targeted Congress on the controversy arising over ‘Vande Mataram’ in Kerala. Krishna Hegde said that ‘Vande Mataram’ is the national song of the country and it is not appropriate to create any kind of controversy over it.
Speaking to news agency IANS, Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde said, “During the tenure of the new UDF-Congress government in Kerala, after the Governor’s address in the Assembly, an attempt was made by the Congress party to stop the singing and band performance of ‘Vande Mataram’, which is our national song. The Governor expressed displeasure over this and said that ‘Vande Mataram’ is a national song and it cannot be stopped like this.
Discussions have intensified in political circles after Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila met senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Rajya Sabha nomination.
Responding to this meeting, Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde said that there are three or four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka on which Congress is contesting and there is a tussle going on between the camps of DK Shivakumar and caretaker Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He said that both the parties are trying to ensure their respective candidates for Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Congress leader and former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy YS Sharmila has also joined the discussion.
