Raids on those in contact with Pakistan based terrorists
The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) department of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a massive raid operation in various areas of the valley on Wednesday, June 3, as part of investigation into an already registered FIR. This action was part of the investigation of the case registered at CIK police station.
According to senior police officials, search operations were conducted at a total of eight locations in six districts. Raids were conducted at two places each in Srinagar and Bandipora, while search operations were also conducted in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Sopore.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that some suspected persons were in contact with Pakistan-based terrorist operators. According to officials, these suspects were maintaining contact with them through encrypted communication platforms. He is also suspected of spreading radical propaganda, promoting extremist ideology and being involved in pro-terrorism activities. Police said that further investigation of the case is going on and detailed information is awaited.
Meanwhile, the ongoing ‘Operation Sherawali’ in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir entered its 12th day on Wednesday. Security forces have been put on high alert and extensive search operations are underway in the forest areas of Rajouri. With the expansion of the operation, heavy deployment of security forces has been maintained in the area.
Tight security arrangements have been imposed in the sensitive Mughalan-Dorimal area and security agencies are carrying out massive search and surveillance operations. Various security and intelligence agencies are involved in this operation and security has been further strengthened in the entire area.
Earlier on Sunday, security forces had arrested an infiltrator in Uri sector. He was identified as a resident of Pakistan. Zeeshan MirSon Lal Mirhas occurred as. According to the information, he had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and entered Uri sector. The alert soldiers took restrained action by warning him to surrender and eventually captured him. Later he was handed over to Jammu and Kashmir Police for further legal action.
