Big demonstration of CJP at Delhi Jantar Mantar, demand for reforms in education system and examination intensifies!
Students and youth demonstrated strongly under the leadership of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday. The movement was led by the organization’s founder Abhijit Deepke, who directly joined the protest after returning from America. Amidst heavy police security, thousands of students, parents and youth preparing for competitive exams gathered in this protest.
The main demand of the protesters was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. They allege that the NEET paper leak, alleged irregularities in CBSE’s on-screen marking system and persistent irregularities in recruitment examinations have broken the confidence of students. During this, slogans like “Not Make in India, Leak in India” were also raised.
Questions were also raised in the movement on the rapid digitalization of education. Parents and students say that implementation of digital systems without adequate training and security is leading to irregularities, hence comprehensive reforms and investigation are necessary first.
The condition of the education system in Manipur was also an important issue of the protest. Social workers said that the situation there has not been normal for the last several years, due to which schools and colleges are being affected and the future of the students is in danger.
Along with this, the issue of mental health of students also came up prominently in the demonstration. The participants said that constant exam uncertainty and issues like paper leaks are increasing the stress among students, even leading to serious consequences in many cases. The protesters demanded the creation of a national level mental health support system.
A large number of students, youth and parents participated in the entire demonstration. Many protesters arrived wearing cockroach masks and carrying flowers in their hands. The organizers described it as a completely peaceful movement and said that this struggle will continue in a democratic manner.
