Seven Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in Andheri, Mumbai arrested!
The Intelligence and Special Investigation Unit of the police had received information that some suspicious people were coming to Andheri area in search of employment. Based on this information, the police increased surveillance and took action by laying a trap in the area. As soon as the suspects reached there, the police took them into custody and started interrogating them. After interrogation and verification of documents, he was found to have no valid identity card or residence permit.
Those arrested include four men, two women and a teenager. Everyone has been brought to the police station for further legal process. The police are also investigating whether these people had got the help of any local person or gang and whether there were other people living like this illegally in the city.
During the investigation, it was also found that these people were in touch with their family members in their native country and used to talk to them from time to time. Now the police is deeply investigating how big is the extent of their network and whether it is part of any organized illegal migration network. Officials say that further action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
Police have also said that the operation to identify foreign nationals living illegally in the city will continue and all suspicious cases will be investigated strictly. This action is being considered an important step for the local security system.
