Gill-Rahul’s centuries, India declared the innings after scoring 564 runs!

The only Test match between India and Afghanistan is being played at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. On the second day of the Test, the Indian team declared its first innings after scoring 564 runs losing 8 wickets.

The second day of the Test started with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant adding 48 runs. Captain Gill was out after scoring 126 runs after facing 177 balls. He hit 15 fours and one six in this innings. At the same time, Pant also batted brilliantly and scored 81 runs with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes. Pant missed his century. Dhruv Jurel could not show anything special with the bat and was out after scoring 19 runs.

After Pant-Jurel returned to the pavilion, Washington Sundar and Manav Suthar took charge. Together, they made an important partnership of 54 runs in 85 balls for the seventh wicket. In his debut innings, Manav was out after scoring 28 runs. At the same time, Mohammad Siraj also scored 22 runs in 12 balls with the help of 4 fours and one six. Sundar stood guard at one end and remained unbeaten after scoring 52 runs in 68 balls. He hit 5 fours and one six in his innings.

Sundar along with Siraj made a partnership of 30 runs in 23 balls, while he along with Kuldeep Yadav added 24 runs. Kuldeep remained unbeaten after scoring 9 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 24 runs. Whereas, KL Rahul batted brilliantly and played a strong inning of 100 runs in 165 balls. Sai Sudarshan scored 81 runs in 104 balls with the help of 13 fours.

In bowling, Mohammad Salim Safi performed brilliantly for Afghanistan and took 6 wickets. Whereas, Ziaur Rehman and Hashmatullah Shahidi took one wicket each. This is the second highest score made by any team against Afghanistan. With this, for the first time after the year 2023, the Indian team has scored more than 550 runs.
