PM Modi will visit France and Slovakia, emphasis will be on economic cooperation and innovation partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of France and Slovakia from 13 to 18 June. During this time, along with participating in many bilateral and multilateral programs, he will also interact with the people of the Indian community. The main objective of this visit is to strengthen economic cooperation with both the countries and to give new impetus to cultural ties, while innovation and technology partnership will be the main focus of this visit.

While sharing information about his visit, Prime Minister Modi said that the first phase of the tour will start from Nice city of France. Here he will participate in many programs, especially the ‘Bharat Innovates’ program. French President Emmanuel Macron is also likely to be present in this program.

The ‘India Innovates’ program is being organized at a time when India and France are celebrating the ‘India-France Year of Innovation’. The Prime Minister said that this platform will bring together innovators, startups and various stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem of both the countries. The program is expected to promote collaboration and exchange of experiences in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

During his stay in Nice, Prime Minister Modi will also hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders will review the progress of the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership and discuss new areas of mutual cooperation.

After the programs in France, the Prime Minister will pay a state visit to the Slovak Republic on 14 and 15 June. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia after it became an independent nation in 1993. This visit is being considered important for the growing relations between the two countries.

In Bratislava, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico. Apart from this, he will also meet prominent industrialists and business leaders there.

This visit is expected to further strengthen India’s strategic partnership with the European Union. Slovakia is an important member of the European Union and is considered to play an important role in taking forward the positive environment generated by the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

After Slovakia, Prime Minister Modi will reach Evian on June 16 and 17 to participate in the G-7 summit. Global economic and strategic issues are likely to be discussed at this platform with leaders of various countries.

On the last leg of the tour, the Prime Minister will reach Paris on June 18, where he will participate in VivaTech 2026 with French President Macron. The event, one of Europe’s most prestigious technology and innovation events, will feature India’s largest ever national pavilion, showcasing the growing collaboration between the Indian and European innovation ecosystem.
