Stalin’s taunt on Delhi tour, questions asked to Vijay!
Stalin referred to things that Vijay had reportedly said when the DMK was in power and Stalin had visited the national capital.
According to the DMK leader, Vijay had then accused him of going to Delhi to avoid investigation in Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases and also alleged that the DMK had entered into some secret agreement with the BJP.
Stalin said that whenever I went to Delhi as Chief Minister, the current Chief Minister used to make many types of allegations. He claimed that I had gone there to escape ED cases and also said that I had bowed down to the BJP to get political benefits.
Referring to Vijay’s recent visit to Delhi, Stalin asked several questions to the Chief Minister. He asked, “What have you done now? Did you go to Delhi to escape the Karur CBI case? Are you afraid of criticizing the BJP because you feel it may create problems for your government?”
Stalin said that the purpose of these questions was to highlight the contradictions seen in Vijay’s political talks. He argued that the allegations being made now are similar to those made against the DMK leadership earlier.
The former chief minister said he would not make the kind of personal criticism that he felt Vijay had done earlier. Stalin said that attending government programs in the national capital is part of the chief minister’s responsibilities and should not automatically be viewed from a political perspective.
Stalin said that I will not lower my standards by making derogatory remarks about the Chief Minister, just because he had attended a government program in Delhi.
The comments come amid a growing political confrontation between the ruling TVK-led government and the opposition DMK, with both sides continuously blaming each other over their respective relations with the BJP and the central government.
