FIFA World Cup: Japan’s 4-0 historic win, Tunisia out!

In the Group F match of FIFA World Cup 2026, Japan performed brilliantly and defeated Tunisia 4-0 in a one-sided match. This is the first time in World Cup history that Japan has scored four goals in a match. With this defeat, Tunisia’s journey in the tournament has ended.

With this victory, Japan has strengthened its claim to reach the knockout stage. In the last 151 matches played between AFC (Asian Football Confederation) teams in the FIFA World Cup, no team had scored four goals in a match. Japan has made this record in its name and has become the first AFC country to do so. Not only this, but this victory of Japan is also the biggest victory of any AFC team in World Cup history.

Ayase Ueda started Japan’s big win. He jumped high and made an excellent header over the Tunisian defenders and sent the ball into the goal post, giving Japan a 1-0 lead. Ueda scored two goals in this match and with this he became the first Japanese player to score two goals in a single match in the FIFA World Cup.

At the same time, Keto Nakamura also registered his name in the 1000th match in the history of FIFA World Cup. He reached the penalty box quickly and was in the right place. After this, Daichi Kamada was given an accurate pass from among several players, which Kamada converted into a goal to increase Japan’s lead to 2-0.

Kamada’s goal in the fourth minute is the fastest goal scored by a Japanese player in FIFA World Cup history. Earlier, this record was in the name of Shinji Kagawa, who scored a goal in the sixth minute of the match against Colombia in 2018.

Ueda scored the second goal for Japan in the 31st minute of the match. Japan’s dominance was also seen in the second half and in the 69th minute of the match, Junya Ito made a brilliant slide and scored the third goal for the team. In the 83rd minute of the match, Ueda scored his second and fourth goal of the match, sealing Japan’s easy victory.
