Gehlot Warns Over Lucknow Incident Rajasthan Government Must Learn A Lesson
15 people, mostly students, died in the incident in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. After this accident, political rhetoric has intensified. Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, while talking to journalists on Tuesday, advised the Rajasthan government to learn a lesson from the accident.
Ashok Gehlot said, “In the incident that happened in Lucknow, 15 children died. This incident is not a small thing. Is our government also waiting for a similar incident? I want to tell the government that we had spent about Rs 400-500 crore in making coaching hubs for 240 institutes in Jaipur. 140 people had also deposited the money.
Because of the stupidity of this government, 100 people took back their money. We were going to open a branch of IIT there, but they have made a joke of it. If you want to open an IIT unit there, then just build a new building for them. We had ensured that around 1 lakh children would study on Gopalpura Bypass.”
He further said, “An incident has already happened in Delhi, where children died due to drowning in water at an underground place. In Gopalpura too, 25-30 children were injured due to gas. Is the government waiting for an incident like UP here too? What does the government want?”
Why have they kept it closed? The building is just deteriorating and if left like this, it will collapse. There is a library inside it, all the facilities are there, there is also a food court for children, children can study in a good environment, they will get good environment in every way. It is incomprehensible why they are doing such things?”
Referring to the hospital in Jodhpur, Gehlot said, “In Jodhpur too, four buildings of the hospital are lying unused. The building of Sumer Public Library is ready, it is just lying like that. The Sports Institute is also lying unused. I myself had requested the Chief Minister over the phone, when we were talking on my birthday.”
He further said, “The government is not able to give compensation on time and the payments of different departments are stopped. The government should clearly tell that our financial condition is so bad that we will not be able to make the payments for 6 months or a year. Payments have stopped in all the departments. Even checks worth Rs 2 crore are not being issued.”
This is a double-engine government, they have their own government in Delhi also, they can and probably are taking additional help. But, they have made the situation so bad that no department has money for payment. People are getting ruined and troubled. Pension is not being received on time, nothing is being done.”
He further said, “News are coming from Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and many other places that wheat is not being procured. Strikes are going on there, people are worried, bags are not arriving. The government is not able to meet the set procurement targets, and the time for procurement which was earlier till 30th June, was extended to 31st May this time. Now they are extending it again and again and 30th June will come again. The farmers of Rajasthan are getting ruined.” Are.”
