Patna, 23 June. Bihar government has taken major action in the Bharat Bhushan Tiwari encounter case and seven days after the encounter, a case of murder has been registered against SDPO, SHO and other policemen on the application of Bharat’s mother. Bharat Tiwari’s mother had accused SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma, then police station incharge Rajesh Kumar Malakar and other policemen of shooting him dead after surrendering.
17 Bharat Tiwari was killed in an encounter in June
It is noteworthy that Bharat Tiwari’s encounter took place on June 17 in Bhojpur, Bihar. The policemen are accused that even after surrendering, Bharat Tiwari was shot dead. If seen, this is the fourth FIR so far in this case. Till now the Bihar government had not registered an FIR for murder against the policemen. People were continuously registering their protest against this encounter. Seeing the increase in the matter, Bihar government has now taken major action against the policemen.
The family was demanding this
Ever since the encounter of Bharat Tiwari, the family members were demanding that a case of murder should be registered against the police personnel and they should be hanged, only then the family would be able to get justice. Bharat Tiwari was killed in a police encounter on 17 June. Police claimed that Bharat had fired 10 to 12 rounds of bullets at the police team, due to which he died in the retaliatory action.
CM Samrat Chaudhary had ordered a judicial inquiry
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had ordered a judicial inquiry into the entire matter on June 20. Besides, four policemen were also suspended. This afternoon, the government took action and directed to register a case of murder against the concerned policemen. After this, FIR was registered against the policemen.
