Free Meal In Train : These passengers will get free meal in the train; New Rules of IRCTC

Free Meal In Train | There is happy and comforting news for lakhs of passengers traveling by rail. IRCTC, which manages ticketing, catering and tourism services of Indian Railways, has launched an important facility for the convenience of passengers. Accordingly, now if your train is delayed for more than 2 hours, you will get free meal from the railways.

Passengers who have opted for meal option at the time of ticket booking will be provided free meal at no extra charge. But this facility has not been implemented for all railway trains but only for Vande Bharat Express trains. Therefore, the passengers who regularly travel by Vande Bharat will get a big relief.

According to IRCTC, if a Vande Bharat Express runs two hours or more late than the scheduled time, passengers will be given free meals. However, this facility will be available only for passengers who have opted for meal option while booking their tickets. Free Meal In Train

Under this facility, passengers will be served meals like rice, dal and pickles. This food will be delivered directly to the passenger seat from the pantry car. If for any reason this meal is not available, packaged food will be provided instead.

Interestingly, even premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto Express already have the facility of free meal in case of long train delay. Now Vande Bharat Express has also been included in this facility.

Meanwhile, various activities are being continuously implemented by IRCTC and Indian Railways for the safety and convenience of railway passengers. Recently approval has been given to install ‘Kavach’ security system on 631 route kilometers of East Coast Railway. Around Rs. 270 crore will be spent on this project and it is considered as an important step in terms of railway safety. Free Meal In Train
