Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed Amazon’s $48 billion investment in India and said it will create opportunities for the country’s youth. Also, it shows the interest of the whole world to invest in India.
Quoting Amazon CEO and President Andy Jassy’s post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi wrote, “The meeting with Andy Jassy was wonderful. I welcome Amazon’s record $48 billion investment in India. This will create new opportunities for our youth. Also, it shows the growing interest across the world to invest in India.”
Jessie wrote in his post, “It was a great meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Amazon’s future plans in India. We have been serving customers, sellers, developers, startups and industries in India for more than a decade and our journey has just begun.”
He further said, “I talked to him about the upcoming plan. Told that Amazon is investing $ 48 billion in India in the coming five years, of which more than $ 21 billion will be invested in the field of AI and cloud infrastructure. “
According to JC, “By 2030, we plan to create 38 lakh jobs, enable $80 billion of e-commerce exports, and bring the benefits of AI to 15 million small businesses and 40 lakh government school students. According to the information given on the official site of Amazon, with this new investment, Amazon’s total planned investment to increase AI and cloud infrastructure in India between 2026 and 2030 will exceed $ 21 billion.
