Trump said in Ankara, ‘According to me, the MOU with Iran is now over’!
West Asia once again seems to be moving towards a major conflict. US President Donald Trump, while answering the questions of journalists during the NATO summit in Ankara, clearly said that he feels that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran is now over.
President Trump, who had a relatively soft stance towards Iran’s leadership till a few weeks ago, used strong words against Tehran this time.
Trump said, “There is something wrong with them. They are sick and play dirty games.” However, Trump also said that he would allow his negotiators to continue talks, but he thinks “they (Iran) are just wasting time.”
This statement has come in the tense atmosphere of the attack between the US Central Command and Iran’s IRGC.
Meanwhile, senior UAE diplomat Anwar Gargash says Iran’s attacks on commercial tankers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the Strait of Hormuz and repeated aggression against Bahrain and Kuwait show that Tehran is unable to meet the needs of reducing tensions and “ending the chapter of war”.
“The Arab countries of the Gulf cannot become the target of Iran’s changing stance between escalating tensions and the path of understanding, stability and peace,” Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE President, told XPost on Wednesday.
After US CENTCOM’s claim on Wednesday of targeting 80 military bases of Iran, IRGC also talked about retaliating against 85 US bases.
The Iranian military claimed it carried out a drone attack targeting US forces stationed at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain in response to US attacks on southern Iran.
The military said that repeated and flagrant violations of the ceasefire by the US would have serious consequences and all US military bases in the region would now be legitimate targets of military drone strikes.
