Political activities have intensified regarding the by-election to be held on Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar. Various political parties are busy finalizing their strategy. Meanwhile, AIMIM has clarified that the final authority to contest elections on behalf of the party or take any decision under the alliance rests with the party’s national president Asaduddin Owaisi.
AIMIM national spokesperson Adil Hasan said while talking to the media on Wednesday that the question is constantly being asked whether the party will field its candidate in the Bankipur assembly by-election. Bihar State President Akhtarul Iman has already made his stand clear in this regard.
He said that after considering all the aspects from its side, the Bihar unit has sent its report and suggestions to National President Asaduddin Owaisi. Now the final decision will be taken at their level.
Adil Hasan said that he hopes that a decision in this regard will be taken tonight or by Thursday. He said that if there is a possibility of any alliance or the party decides to contest the elections on its own, then its announcement will also be made as per the guidelines of the National President.
He said, “The Bihar unit has put forward its stand before the national leadership. Whatever decision will now be taken, it will be on the instructions of Asaduddin Owaisi and will be made public through the media.”
All the major parties are busy preparing their election strategies for the Bankipur Assembly by-election. In such a situation, political circles are also keeping an eye on the decision of AIMIM. It is believed that the party’s decision may affect the political equations of the by-election.
At present, no formal announcement has been made by the party regarding the candidate or possible alliance. Now all eyes are on the final decision of the national leadership.
