Ajay Rai said on Ram temple offering controversy, accept accountability also!

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has written a letter to the Prime Minister regarding alleged allegations of offerings and financial irregularities in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple of Ayodhya. He said that the central government, which takes credit for the construction of the temple, should now also answer questions related to offerings and financial management.

Ajay Rai has demanded independent forensic investigation, financial audit and accountability of responsible officials. Uttar Pradesh Congress President and former minister Ajay Rai said in a letter to the Prime Minister on Tuesday that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple located in Ayodhya is the center of faith and cultural consciousness of crores of people.

The construction, inauguration and consecration of the temple was presented by the Central Government as its biggest achievement. In such a situation, the government should give clear and transparent answers to the questions being raised on temple offerings, financial management and administrative system.

Rai said that along with taking credit for the construction of the temple, responsibility for the financial matters related to it should also be accepted. In a democratic system, credit for achievements and institutional accountability both go together.

He told that he has also sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on the same subject demanding an independent forensic investigation and financial audit, but till now no effective action has been taken. He alleges that instead of answering the basic questions, the government representatives are busy making political allegations against the opposition, due to which doubt is increasing in the minds of the people.

The Congress State President said that if the allegations being made regarding the offerings and financial management of the temple are baseless, then it will automatically become clear through independent forensic investigation and financial audit. At the same time, if irregularities are found at any level, fair and strict action should be taken against the culprits.

He said that accountability of the trust officials and administrative officers involved in the construction and management of the temple should also be fixed. If the concerned officials did not inform the government about any irregularity, then it is a violation of their responsibility and if the information was given, then what action was taken on it should also be publicly answered.

Ajay Rai said that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is not the heritage of any political party or organization but of the entire nation, hence raising questions related to the management, offerings and transparency of the temple is not an opposition to any party, but an effort to maintain the dignity of the national heritage.

He also said that insulting those who ask questions is not in accordance with democratic tradition. An individual or political party cannot be deprived of the right to question the administration and transparency of the temple on the basis of its role in the construction of the temple.

Ajay Rai said that Lord Shri Ram is a symbol of truth, justice, dignity and responsibility, hence any dispute related to the temple can be resolved not through political allegations and counter-allegations, but only through truth, transparency and impartial investigation. He urged the Prime Minister to order an independent forensic and financial investigation, hold the culprits accountable and keep the sanctity of the temple paramount.
