Notice to four officers on construction irregularities, contractor’s registration suspended!

Many irregularities have been found in the inspection of works done under the Public Works Department in Madhya Pradesh. On which show cause notice has been issued to four officers, the registration of the same contractor has been suspended. Officially given information it has been said that the Public Works Department is conducting surprise inspections across the state to ensure quality in construction works.

Recently, seven teams of Chief Engineers conducted surprise inspection of the under construction and completed works in Raisen, Pandhurna, Shivpuri, Burhanpur, Umaria, Mandsaur and Niwari districts.

A total of 34 construction works were tested on random basis during the inspection, which included 21 works of Public Works Department (Roads and Bridges), six of PIU, six of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation and one work of Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation.
The inspection reports were reviewed by Chief Engineer (Roads and Bridges) R.L. This was done in a video conferencing meeting chaired by Verma.

In the meeting, Chief Engineer (MPRDC) K.P.S. Rana, Chief Engineer (Building) S.R. Baghel, Chief Engineer (BDC) Ajay Srivastava, senior officers of the department and all the inspection teams were present online.

In the review, instructions were given to issue show cause notice to the concerned sub-divisional officer and the then executive engineer if quality deficiencies were found in the work of the high level bridge under construction on Pandarol Nala located on Sundar Nagar-Kundan Dairy Road in Burhanpur district.

Similarly, if the quality of Hivra Phata-Haiderpur Phata road construction work in Burhanpur district was not up to the expected level, instructions were given to Chief Engineer Indore to issue a notice against the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Engineer and to take action to suspend the registration of the working agency M/s Kalika Furniture Industries, Khandwa.
