Rekha Gupta's attack on AAP government, public money is not spent!

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the House on Tuesday during the monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly. In his address, he made serious allegations against the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for not spending the funds and alleged misuse of public money. Presenting the example of the budget of 2024-25, he claimed that the government did not utilize an amount of about Rs 20 thousand crores.

Rekha Gupta said that it is a big thing that the previous government had the amount. It was not being spent. The money they spent was misused. If we talk about the budget of 2024-25, the budget was Rs 80,798 crore.

The government spent only Rs 61 thousand crores. The entire amount was not spent and no work was done in the public interest. He alleged that the government's focus was on where the scam would take place and where public money could be embezzled.

The Chief Minister said that the previous government had nothing to do with the cleaning of Yamuna. The previous government did not work with any such thinking of new schools, new roads or providing direct benefits to the public related schemes.

Referring to GST, the CM said that in 2025-26, we have given GST refund of Rs 1,313 crore and now if we talk about 2026-27, half a year has passed and we have already given GST refund of Rs 550 crore. We are trying to ensure that people's money reaches them on time. That's what we're trying to do.

He said that the previous government did not spend even a single rupee on the welfare of poor labourers. Rekha Gupta sarcastically said that the previous government says that they 'did a very good job'. But, when we saw the last CAG report, we found that he did not spend even a single rupee on the poor labourers, on their welfare or on their welfare schemes.

Rekha Gupta said that the supreme constitutional audit body has prepared the report. This audit has exposed the irregularities of the previous government. In this, every issue has been explained in such detail that it shows how the previous Aam Aadmi Party government allegedly misused public money and misused Delhi's money.

The Chief Minister said that there were irregularities in the previous government, which should be investigated. He alleged that there were flaws in many systems since the time of the previous government. Our government has presented a report on which the PAC is continuously investigating and no meeting of the PAC was held during the time of the previous government. CAG was not involved, that is, everything was kept hidden.
