Rejecting the speculations about Sharad Pawar joining NDA, he said that it is not appropriate to draw political conclusions only on the basis of meeting in any program or function. At the same time, in the Shiv Sena case, he expressed hope that the court will give its verdict soon.
On speculations that Sharad Pawar will go with NDA after his meeting with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal said that going to any wedding or function in itself is not wrong.
He said that attending someone's program is a part of our social dignity and it is not appropriate to make political comments or reach any conclusion on this basis alone. Sharad Pawar has answered all these questions many times before and his statements should be believed.
Regarding the meeting of the Core Committee of Maharashtra Congress, Harshvardhan Sapkal also said that the past political developments and activities of the party were reviewed in the meeting. He said that the future programs were also discussed in the meeting and the programs to be organized by the party in the coming times have been decided.
With BJP attacking Congress over the protests in Jharkhand, Harshvardhan Sapkal said that Rahul Gandhi has strongly condemned the way police used force during the protests. Congress is looking at this entire matter seriously and in the coming time, communication can also be established with the people associated with the protest.
On the hearing of the case related to Shiv Sena in the Supreme Court, Harshvardhan Sapkal said that he hopes that the decision in this matter will come as soon as possible. He said that the public knows a lot about what is right and what is wrong in the case.
The court should give its decision on the basis of law and constitutional system. Whether the decision is in someone's favor or against someone, political comment should not be made on the decision of the judicial system.
Expressing concern over the delay in justice, Sapkal said that many incidents have happened in the recent past, due to which various types of comments are coming to the fore regarding the justice system. He said that in a democracy, people's expectations are linked to both the judiciary and the Parliament. In such a situation, it is very important to maintain people's trust.
When Harshvardhan Sapkal was asked if he was hopeful that Shiv Sena's election symbol could go back to Uddhav Thackeray, he said it should not be seen as mere hope.
