Devendra Nath Mahato's condition is worrying in Jharkhand student movement, BP dropped!

The students' agitation against alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations continues in Jharkhand. A large number of students have gathered at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi. Many of these students are sitting on hunger strike. Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato has also been fasting for a long time. His health deteriorated due to continuous hunger strike, after which he was admitted to the hospital. At present his treatment and medical monitoring is going on.

After examining the health of Devendra Nath Mahato, Dr. Hafiz Ali informed about his condition while talking to IANS. He said, at present the blood pressure (BP) of Devendra Nath Mahato has remained normal to some extent after being given fluids.

When the fluid is stopped, their BP starts going down again. Calling it a matter of concern, the doctor has said there is a need for constant monitoring.

Dr. Hafiz Ali said that during the investigation, dehydration was a major factor in Devendra's condition. Due to this, they may suffer from problems like weakness and dizziness. The doctor has advised that he be given ORS and necessary fluids, so that the balance of water and electrolytes in the body is maintained and helps in keeping the blood pressure stable.

The doctor also told that in the earlier test, ketone bodies were found in his urine. In case of not eating for a long time or in case of starvation, the body starts using stored fat for energy, which can lead to the formation of ketone bodies. In such a situation, the effect of the long ongoing hunger strike is clearly visible on his body.

According to the doctor, his biggest problem at the moment is dehydration. If there is not enough fluid in the body, BP can fall and there is a risk of dizziness when getting up or walking suddenly. Therefore they need to be careful and kept under medical observation.
