Rahul emotionally remembered the struggle and courage of mother Sonia!

On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, his son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi shared an emotional message remembering his father. Rahul Gandhi also remembered the struggle, courage and strength of his mother Sonia Gandhi in the message.

Rahul Gandhi posted on social media platform X and wrote that mother, I last saw you and father together more than 35 years ago.

Since the day Papa left, I have seen you face every difficulty of life – always with courage and dignity. Only Priyanka and I really know what you have endured and how difficult your life was after Papa left.

He wrote that I am happy and proud that your story “Belonging: A Journey of Love” will finally be read by millions of people who love you. I know how difficult it must have been for someone like you who loves her personal life to tell her beautiful story to the world. Today, on Papa's birth anniversary, I can feel Papa smiling and my beautiful mother looking at him with pride.

Remembering his father Rajiv Gandhi in another post, Rahul Gandhi wrote that goodwill among Indians, compassion in every heart, justice to every citizen and equal rights in democracy. Papa, your teachings are my strength and your memories are my courage. The resolve to build the India of your dreams will always guide me.

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote in the post on 'X' that today on Goodwill Day, we are remembering Rajiv Gandhi. He was a visionary leader who inspired hope among millions of people and helped prepare India for the possibilities of the 21st century.

His legacy lives on today in the monumental changes he initiated and also in his unwavering belief in the power of India's youth, technological progress and new ideas.
Perhaps the best tribute to Rajiv Gandhi would be to strengthen India's eternal spirit of sympathy, harmony and reconciliation. Also, promote intellectual freedom, innovation and aspirations of our youth.
