Indian Navy's sail training ship INS Sudarshini has reached Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. As part of its long voyage 'Lokayan 2026', this magnificent three-masted naval vessel reached Lisbon via the Tagus River. During this, traditional sailing and maritime skills were displayed impressively.
According to the Navy, Lisbon is the 15th port stop of INS Sudarshini's seven-month long voyage. During such a long sea campaign, this ship is reaching the ports of different countries and conveying the message of India's maritime tradition, sailing skills and friendship. Seeing INS Sudarshini equipped with three masts and traditional sails also gives a glimpse of the old traditions of sea travel.
In the age of modern naval technology, the ship provides trainee sailors with an understanding of sea conditions, learning traditional sailing skills and practical experience of operating in a challenging maritime environment. This visit of INS Sudarshini to Lisbon is very important. This is considered an important step towards further strengthening the long-standing maritime relations between India and Portugal.
