He appealed to the people of the Maratha community across Maharashtra to come out of their homes, gather at the protest site and remain united for the cause.
Before the fast unto death, the police sent a notice to Manoj Jarange Patil. Jalna Police has issued this notice under Section 168 of BNSS and imposed 10 strict conditions for the fast.
In this notice, the police has made it clear that law and order should not be disturbed during the fast. If this happens, legal action will be taken and this notice will be used as evidence.
There should be no traffic jam due to hunger strike. Parking of vehicles should be at designated places only. Appoint volunteers for this and give their names and mobile numbers to the police. Noise pollution rules should be strictly followed. The guidelines given by the police and administration from time to time will have to be followed.
If there is any change in the outline or method of the fast, the police will have to be informed first. The prohibition and disarmament orders imposed by Jalna District Magistrate will have to be strictly followed. To ensure that there is no power cut at the protest site, the organizers will have to arrange for a generator.
Full care will have to be taken to ensure that law and order does not deteriorate during the movement. Sentiments of any caste, religion or society should not be hurt. No inflammatory or provocative speech should be given from the stage. Inflammable materials should not be used in and around the fast site. The directions given by the Supreme Court and the Mumbai and Aurangabad benches of the Bombay High Court in various petitions should not be violated.
Manoj Jarange Patil replied to this notice. He wrote that his fast is peaceful. This fast unto death in Antarwali has been going on in a democratic and peaceful manner for the last three years and will remain peaceful in future too.
Manoj Jarange wrote that the government itself violates the laws and oppresses the Maratha community by using police force, as has happened in earlier movements. If any unfair incident happens, the entire responsibility for it will be of the government.
