Brics India 2026 New Delhi Ready To Welcome The World Ndmc Offers A Glimpse

Ahead of the BRICS Summit to be held at Bharat Mandapam on 12 and 13 September 2026, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has intensified preparations by focusing on cleanliness, beautification, lighting and ease of traffic routes on major roads, markets, hotel areas and VIP routes in the national capital.

Meanwhile, NDMC Chairman Manoj Dwivedi on Sunday shared some pictures and the logo of BRICS India 2026 on the social media platform X regarding its preparations.

In a post, while sharing the logo of BRICS India 2026, he said that such arrangements will be made by NDMC at some places in the national capital to welcome and commemorate the BRICS Summit of 2026. Apart from this, he informed that lighting and beautification work has started on our roundabouts.

Earlier in a post on Twitter, the New Delhi Municipal Council official said, “New Delhi is ready to welcome the world. Ahead of the BRICS Summit, NDMC is giving a new and vibrant look to the key areas of New Delhi through extensive beautification and road improvement works.

From pothole-free roads, improved footpaths and clear zebra crossings to theme-based paintings, lighted fountains and upgraded footpaths, every aspect is being carefully improved to create a cleaner, safer and more welcoming city. “New Delhi’s public spaces are being transformed with a sense of pride, purpose and global welcome.”

Earlier, an NDMC official said that the Integrated Command and Control Center of NDMC located at the Municipality Center will work round the clock from September 5 to 14. Additionally, a control room will also be present to monitor traffic and attend calls.

NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal said that two officers of Director or Joint Director level will be deployed in every three shifts, while 11 wings have been assigned night duty so that any problem can be resolved in time.

The official said that it has also been decided that the in-charge of the concerned department will be available to attend the calls, while the Chief Security Officer will coordinate with Delhi Police and Traffic Police.

To control dust and pollution, fog will be sprayed specifically at five locations including Lodhi Road, Tilak Marg, Africa Avenue, Shantipath and Zakir Hussain Road.

The preparations include flower boards at 15 locations, flower fountains at nine locations and over 15,000 flower pots along major roads and important intersections besides decorative lighting at 17 major roundabouts, 11 hotels and 10 NDMC buildings.
