Third season of UPL from September 21, women icon players announced!

The third season of Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) will be played between September 21 and October 1. All the matches will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where the best men and women cricketers of the state will participate. UPL 2026, to be organized under the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU), will provide another competitive platform for players from across the state to showcase their abilities.

The men's competition will feature Dehradun Warriors, USN Indians, Haridwar Almas, Tehri Titans, Rishikesh River Kings, Pithoragarh Hurricanes and Nainital Tigers. Whereas, in the women's competition, Mussoorie Queens, Bageshwar Aerials, Pithoragarh Hurricanes and Dehradun Warriors will participate.

The names of four female icon players have also been announced for the tournament, which include Prema Rawat, Raghavi Bisht, Nandini Kashyap and Shweta Verma.

The Uttarakhand Premier League has emerged as the state's premier T20 competition, giving talented cricketers the opportunity to play alongside experienced players in a professional environment.

The league is being held ahead of the IPL auction cycle, giving players a platform to showcase their T20 ability and garner more attention.

Maheem Verma, former vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former secretary of CAU, said that this league gives players an opportunity to make their mark before the time of IPL auction.

He said, “Uttarakhand has a huge amount of cricket talent, and the UPL gives players the platform and recognition they deserve. Being ahead of the IPL auction season, this league gives players a great opportunity to grab attention with their performances.”

Sunil Joshi, Chairman, Uttarakhand Premier League, said, “The UPL aims to create opportunities for cricketers from Uttarakhand. The first two seasons have given a glimpse of the talent present in the state, and UPL 2026 will provide another competitive platform for players to perform, make a mark and get opportunities at the highest level.”
