Sitharaman's advice to Gen G and Gen Alpha on humility!

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said students should develop a strong sense of humility and responsibility. Giving the example of famous scholar Sir Isaac Newton, he said that Newton had acknowledged the contribution of other scholars in his success.

Addressing students at MGR University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Finance Minister Sitharaman said that even a great scholar like Newton had admitted that he needed the help of many other scholars to achieve his success and make discoveries.

The Union Minister said, “A great scholar like Newton had admitted that to achieve his success he needed the help of different scholars. He had said that it was only through this collaboration that he was able to make his various discoveries. He expressed this with great humility.”

“Therefore, it is extremely important for students to develop a sense of humility and responsibility,” the Finance Minister said. Sitharaman said Newton's acknowledgment of the contributions of others reflects his deep humility and shows how important it is to recognize the contributions of others to one's achievements.

The Finance Minister urged students to take inspiration from this vision and develop humility along their educational and professional journey. He stressed that a sense of responsibility should also remain an important part of personal and professional development.

The Finance Minister said, “An eminent scholar like Newton had said in his speech that he needed the help of various scholars for his success. Through this he told that he was able to make various discoveries. He expressed this with utmost humility.”

Sitharaman urged the graduating students to take up leadership responsibilities and give priority to the national interest as they begin their professional journey. The Finance Minister said that the security and strength of the country are the fundamental foundations to ensure a stable future for its citizens.

Sitharaman appealed to the graduates to remain humble while pursuing excellence and adapting to the rapid technological changes.
