Pejeshkian said the UN General Assembly is an opportunity for Iran to clarify its position on the international stage and present to the world the realities of the region and the voice of the Iranian people, Tasnim news agency reported. Iran went to the negotiating table several times and made agreements, but later these agreements and commitments were not followed.
“We went to the negotiating table many times and signed agreements, but unfortunately the whole world saw how commitments were not fulfilled and written agreements were violated,” the Iranian president said.
He said that no country or its people can be forced to bow down through the use of force. “People cannot be forced to surrender through force,” Pejeshkian said.
Referring to the ongoing developments in various parts of the region including Gaza, Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Iran, he said that these events are revealing many realities before the world.
Pejeshkian alleged that Iran's opponents are trying to exert pressure against it through different means. Having failed to achieve its objectives through military means, other means are now being used.
“To put pressure on Iran, adversaries are trying to disrupt land and air routes. In addition, efforts are being made to promote internal division, use the media and ethnic groups, and take maximum advantage of the country's weaknesses,” he said.
According to the Iranian President, these efforts are aimed at weakening Iran from within and forcing its people to bow to his terms. He claimed that Iran will strengthen its position on the international stage and present before the world the harm caused to its people and the incidents in the region.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has also reached New York. This visit is being seen as an important opportunity for Iran to present its position before the international community amid the current regional crisis.
